EU AI Office Launches AI Literacy Repository for Article 4 Support
The EU AI Office has initiated a living repository of AI literacy practices to support the implementation of Article 4 of the AI Act. This repository, currently containing over 20 practices, has been developed in collaboration with AI Pact organizations and aims to encourage learning and exchange between AI providers and deployers. Contributions to this repository are collected via a survey that is open to all organizations willing to share their AI literacy initiatives. Practices are subject to verification to ensure transparency and reliability before inclusion in the public repository.
The repository is part of a broader effort to promote AI literacy and skills for AI systems across Europe. It categorizes practices based on their level of implementation, including fully implemented, partially rolled-out, and planned initiatives. While replicating practices from the repository does not ensure compliance with Article 4 of the AI Act, the examples serve to foster knowledge sharing and collaboration among stakeholders in the AI ecosystem.
The AI Office has clarified that the repository does not imply endorsement or evaluation of the practices published. AI Pact pledges, which are voluntary and non-legally binding, have been the primary source of contributions so far. The repository will be updated regularly, and a dedicated website is under development to further support AI literacy and skill-building efforts.
Organizations interested in sharing their AI literacy practices are encouraged to participate in the survey while it remains open. Practices submitted will undergo a verification process to ensure they meet the EU AI Office’s standards. For more information, stakeholders can visit the AI Pact Events webpage to stay informed about upcoming webinars and related initiatives.
